Lady Toros complete 3-0 week, drop Dobson in girls hoops

The Mesa Mountain View girls basketball team settled in for a three-game week starting Monday and capped it with a third victory on Friday. After a slow start the Lady Toros used a strong second quarter to distance themselves from visiting Dobson and post a 56-40 win at Toro Gym.

That juggling act is a choice administered carefully by hardwood mentors. Corona del Sol and Mesa Mountain View boys teams have encountered success in mixing and matching.

McClintock fills football job, tabs Saguaro OC Matt Lewis

McClintock filled its vacant varsity football coaching opening Tuesday hiring Saguaro offensive coordinator Matt Lewis. Lewis confirmed his hiring and met with McClintock players earlier Tuesday. He replaces Mike Gibbons who was fired in November after the season.
