Centennial to face Eastside Catholic from Washington in GEICO State Champions Bowl Series

The Centennial Coyotes football team will face the Eastside Catholic Crusaders on Dec. 22 from Centennial’s home field in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series. Game to start at 8:30 p.m. local, with doors opening at 7 p.m.
Led by longtime coach Richard Taylor, Centennial (14-0) ran the table in the 5A conference in 2018 and defeated Notre Dame Prep 60-7 in the state championship game. The Coyotes have won two straight state titles, four out of the last five, and seven overall. Centennial checks in at No. 24 in the nation according to the USA Today Super 25 Rankings.
Eastside Catholic (12-1) hails from Sammamish, Wash., and was recently crowned the state’s 3A champion with a 31-13 victory over Seattle’s O’Dea High School. The Crusaders also took home championships in 2014 and 2015 with runner-up finishes the two seasons prior to that.
Chandler has been victorious in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series the past two seasons. In 2016 the Wolves defeated Valdosta (Ga.) 44-24 and last year took down Miami Northwestern (Fla.) 55-20 from the campus of GCU.
