Thursday, Oct. 11

3A CONFERENCE

No. 29 Tanque Verde (2-5, 0-2) at No. 10 Safford (4-3, 2-0)

A rare Thursday night game. Safford needs to keep pace with the Sabino/Pusch Ridge winner in the 3A South Region.

Friday, Oct. 12

6A CONFERENCE

No. 16 Tucson (5-2, 3-1) at No. 22 O’Connor (2-5, 1-2)

A big loss to Cesar Chavez last week has Tucson hanging on in the top 16. A trip to the best team in the state, 6A No. 1 Chandler, is next week so win at O’Connor is a must.

5A CONFERENCE

No. 31 Desert View (3-4, 2-0) at No. 5 Flowing Wells (6-1, 2-0)

With three weeks left in the season, a win over Flowing Wells might not be enough to leap into the playoff contention but the 5A Southern Region is still up for grabs. The Caballeros have bigger plans at this point and a loss could to the team fall out of the playoff picture.

No. 12 Marana (5-2, 1-1) at No. 7 Cienega (6-1, 2-0)

The 5A marquee game of the week. It was a 57-50 shootout last year with Jamarye Joiner leading the Bobcats to victory. Cienega beat Marana 52-20 the year before. It appears defense takes a rest when these two teams get together so the defense that rises to the occasion should make a difference.

No. 37 Nogales (2-5, 0-2) at No. 14 Buena (4-3, 1-1)

Buena needs to keep winning to stay in playoff contention.

No. 21 Ironwood Ridge (3-4, 1-1) at No. 19 Sunnyside (4-3, 1-1)

Both teams are trying to move up in the rankings and finish strong.

No. 40 Rincon/UHS (1-6, 0-2) at No. 30 Mountain View (2-5, 2-0)

Mountain View is hoping to keep pace with Flowing Wells in the 5A Sonoran race.

No. 43 Cholla (0-7, 0-2) at No. 36 Empire (2-5, 0-2)

Empire is looking to win another 5A game and finish out on a winning note.

4A CONFERENCE

No. 1 Salpointe (7-0, 2-0) at No. 10 Canyon del Oro (5-2, 1-1)

The 4A marquee game of the week. It will be a tough battle for the Dorados.

No. 28 Pueblo (3-4, 2-0) at No. 8 Walden Grove (5-2, 2-0)

The winner here has control of the 4A Gila Region and the automatic playoff berth that comes with it.

No. 15 Casa Grande (5-2, 1-1) at No. 21 Catalina Foothills (3-4, 1-1)

Both teams are battling for a shot at an at-large playoff spot.

No. 20 Douglas (5-2, 2-0) at No. 40 Amphitheater (3-4, 2-0)

The Bulldogs have fallen dramatically and the Panthers look to keep pace with the winner of Walden Grove/Pueblo.

No. 46 Palo Verde (1-6, 0-2) at No. 44 Rio Rico (1-6, 0-2)

Lots of pride on the line here with three games left.

No. 7 Sahuaro (6-2, 1-1) BYE

3A CONFERENCE

No. 11 Pusch Ridge (4-3, 2-0) at No. 7 Sabino (5-2, 2-0)

The 3A marquee game of the week. This game sets off a difficult 3A South finish with Safford waiting in the wings for both teams.

No. 16 Sahuarita (4-3, 0-2) at No. 38 Catalina (1-6, 0-2)

A difficult patch has Sahuarita playing for a win here with a trip to Sabino coming next week.

2A CONFERENCE

No. 24 Miami (4-3, 2-1) at No. 11 Willcox (5-2, 2-0)

Willcox is in control of the 2A San Pedro Region along with Benson.

No. 15 Benson (4-3, 2-0) at No. 23 Bisbee (2-5, 0-1)

A huge rivalry game and Bisbee could make the playoff picture cloudy for Benson.

No. 18 Santa Cruz (2-5, 1-1) at No. 16 Scottsdale Christian (5-2, 1-1)

Everyone blinked and Santa Cruz climbed back into things with a huge upset over former No. 2 Arizona Lutheran last week. They will need more magic this week.

No. 20 Tombstone (4-3, 0-1) at No. 37 Santa Rita (0-7, 0-2)

Tombstone is trying to climb back into the playoff picture. Tyler Wilrdige could gain a lot of yards in this game.

No. 26 San Manuel (2-5, 1-1) at No. 22 Globe (3-4, 1-1)

Anything can happen in rivalry games.

1A CONFERENCE

No. 13 St. David (5-3, 2-2) at No. 16 Valley Union (1-6, 1-2)

The 1A playoffs is limited to 12 teams. Even with a win here, St. David might not make the playoffs.

No. 20 Baboquivari (2-5, 1-3) at No. 11 Duncan (4-3, 1-1)

Baboquivari could help St. David get in the playoffs with a win at Duncan.
