April 7-8: Canyon del Oro

 

It's still much too early to discuss the boy's volleyball playoff picture as far as which team is in and which team is out but many of the top teams in the state are playing in the CDO Hitmen Invite this weekend.

Division I power Gilbert Perry earned a top seed in the Gold Bracket as did D-II power Cienega. D-II powers Sahuaro and Tucson earned a bye in the Silver Bracket.

The top two teams in each of the sections for D-I and D-II will earn an automatic bid to the state playoffs in May but 25 teams have yet to even play a section match.

The state playoffs will begin on May 7 with the championships for both divisions scheduled for May 14. Salpointe will be a neutral site in the D-II semifinal round if two or more teams are from Southern Arizona.
