Flowing Wells (2-0) and Amphitheater (2-0) will resume their game on Saturday morning at 8 am due to a severe lightning storm that made its way through the Tucson area late Friday night.

The game was stopped at 7:43 pm with Flowing Wells leading Amphi 21-7 with 7:10 left in the second quarter. Amphi had possession of the ball at their own 44-yard line.

Dionte Flores was leading Flowing Wells with 52 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns. Flores also caught one pass for 14 yards. Julio Sandoval had 59 yards passing including a 27-yard touchdown strike to Tyler Stiltner. Brandon Gastellum had one catch for 18 yards. Dylan Valenzuela added 20 yards rushing.

For Amphitheater, Dante Anderson had 29 yards rushing on seven carries. Taylor John threw for 61 yards including a 46-yard touchdown pass to Justin Holbrook. Kyle Rodriguez had a catch for 15 yards.

Flowing Wells struck first on a short field after getting the ball on Amphi's 29-yard line. Flores rushed for a 7-yard touchdown on the five-play drive. The extra point was not good.

Down 6-0 with 5:29 left in the first, Amphi responded with the 46-yard pass from John to Holbrook to take a 7-6 lead and that's how the first quarter ended.

Amphi forced Flowing Wells to punt to start the second quarter but Gastelum was roughed up on the punt and Flowing Wells kept the ball. The penalty proved to be a major turning point and Flowing Wells got the ball back at Amphi's 35.

Sandoval kept the ball and ran 16 yards and then Flores ran outside for his 19-yard touchdown. Flores also ran in a 2-point conversion to make it 14-7 Flowing Wells with 11:19 left in the half.

Amphi was forced to punt, setting up Stiltner's 27-yard touchdown grab to put Flowing Wells up 21-7. Amphi was marching but the game was suspended with 7:19 left in the half.
