Outside hitter Khalia Lanier, who helped Phoenix Xavier Prep capture the Division I volleyball championship in the fall of 2013, has been selected as National Sophomore of the Year by prepvolleyball.com.
Despite missing nearly three weeks due to a concussion, the 6-foot-4 Lanier battled back and helped the Gators knock off rival Phoenix Horizon in the semifinals and Chandler Hamilton in the championship match.
