On Friday October 25th, the Trojans went to battle against the Payson Longhorns in their final home game of the regular season. The Trojans dominated this game from the start, winning with a score of 28-14.

The Trojans began the game with a change at QB, turning to junior Austin Schuder. This was the first start of the season for Schuder. The first quarter started the way the Trojans wanted, with Valley Christian starting off the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run from Caleb Goldman (11). The Trojans then scored early in the second to take a 14-0 lead thanks to a 15-yard touchdown pass to Asher Hanzal (11) from Schuder. This receiving touchdown for Hanzal broke the all-time reception touchdown record in Valley Christian history making that his 22nd career TD. This record was previously set by Austyn Gerard ('19-'21) with 21.

Right before the half was over, quarterback Austin Schuder ran it in from the 15-yard line, making it 21-0 headed into the second half. There was one score from Payson in the 3rd quarter making it 7-21 going into the final quarter.

The defense came up big all game as sophomore Noah Lewis logged two interceptions on the night. Lorden Pickett (11) and Porter Cross (9) both had a fumble recovery on the night with Cross returning his for a 75-yard touchdown, making it 28-7 in the 4th quarter.

This put this game out of reach and the Trojans won their final home game of the season with the score of 28-14.

When senior Luke Snyder was asked about the game he said, "Being able to end my final home game in my football career with a win will be something I remember for a long time. It was emotional knowing that this was the last time I would play at Benson Field. I was proud of our guys and how we showed what we were capable of all season. We kept our playoff hopes alive and are now onto Benjamin Franklin."
