San Manuel defeated Hayden 16-1 to win the Wolfpack Invitational hosted by St. Augustine on Thursday and Friday. San Manuel junior Laila Ruiz was named tournament MVP and the standout catcher went 3-3 in the championship game with two RBI. Julianna Garcia picked up eight strikeouts for the win and Gyannah Madrid went 3-3 with a double and an RBI.

The Miners are 4-0 in ranking games and 3-0 in the 1A South Region. San Manuel will travel to Ray (2-4, 0-2) on Wednesday. Hayden is 3-1 and 1-0 in the 1A East Region and the Lobos will host Ft. Thomas (1-4, 0-2) on Tuesday. Ariana Arbizo hit a home run in the championship game for the Lobos.
