Longtime Hamilton Baseball Coach Mike Woods was inducted into the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame earlier in the month.

Woods is the only Varsity baseball coach the school has known, helping open the program in1998. His tenure since that time is unprecedented. 

Under Woods, Hamilton has nine big school state titles over three different decades (2003, 2004, 2008, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023), and finished runner-up three times (2005, 2009, 2011).
Woods' teams have also reached the semi-finals 16 times and appeared in the state tournament for 22 consecutive years. The Huskies have won 74% of its baseball games with a record of 579-209.

Five of his players reached the major leagues, 32 have been drafted or played professionally, and 52 have played at D1 schools.

Woods was inducted into the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. Woods retired from teaching in 2021 but remains as the Varsity baseball coach. 
 

Huskies get Another 'Original'

Travis Dixon is going old school--literally. It was announced late last week that the former Hamilton football star will be hired as the team's new head football coach. 
Dixon, who is coming off a 9-3 record in his first year at Eastmark, led Hamilton to its first football title in 2003, six months after Woods' led the Huskies to its first baseball championship.

Dixon is replacing Mike Zdebski, who stepped down shortly after Hamilton's football season ended.
