Ultimate road trip: high school football teams to open season in Ireland

Now, this is the ultimate road game.
According to The (Philadelphia) Inquirer, Father Judge (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale, Ariz.) will open their respective football seasons in Ireland in a 20,000-seat stadium.
The game will be played Aug. 31 in Navan, County Meath, (about 30 miles from Dublin) as part of an event sponsored by Global Football, Inc. The matchup was in the works for more than a year and had to run a lengthy approval process.
"There were a lot of hurdles to clear at first," Father Judge coach Tommy Coyle told the newspaper. "We had to get the OK from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the school. A lot of people were willing to step up and help us make this happen."
The once-in-a-lifetime season opener won't be cheap. The newspaper reported that Father Judge plans to take 52 players and 16 coaches to the event, with a cost of $2,700 per person.
