Finn Meister wins Flowing Wells Championship

Catalina Foothills standout Finn Meister shot a 7-under-par 133 to win the Flowing Wells Boys Tournament of Champions held Friday and Saturday at the Silverbell Golf Course in Tucson. The junior shot a 7-under 63 on Friday and he held the off the field on Saturday with Ironwood Ridge standout Jacob Medina shooting a 4-under 66 on the final day to come in second along with his Nighthawk teammate Jayden Schmitz at 137.

Five of the top ten Arizona Division II ranked golfers took part in the tournament including the current top-ranked Brasen Briones (Ironwood Ridge), No. 2 Medina, No. 6 Chase Pickering (Sabino), No. 7 Meister and No. 8 Schmitz.
As a team, the Falcons won the tournament with an 8-under 552 to outlast Ironwood Ridge (566) and Mica Mountain (595). Ironwood Ridge is the defending D-II state championship team and the Nighthawks are ranked No. 1 in D-II followed by Catalina Foothills. Mica Mountain is No. 8. With D-I and D-II combined, only D-I power Hamilton is ranked higher than Ironwood Ridge and Catalina Foothills.
Ironwood Ridge and Catalina Foothills are slated to take part in the Dobson Classic on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
