Michelle Lopez attends Gilbert Christian High School and is a member of the AIA's student SID program.

Brianna Tennison is a senior and captain for the Gilbert Christian High School Varsity Volleyball team. She plays the position of setter for the team. This year, she has taught the team to be patient and to leave their mistakes behind to keep going with the play. Her season of high school court volleyball is coming to an end soon, but she will move on to beach volleyball in the Spring.

Brianna has taken her role of leader very seriously this season. She hopes to help her teammates grow and learn whilst she continues to do the same as well. Not only is she a great leader and setter, but she knows how to kill the ball to the other side, shutting down the opponents. Brianna has had 77 kills throughout this whole season, according to the Maxpreps stats, https://www.maxpreps.com/. She continues to lead and listen to her teammates as they continue to fight for a banner.

Brianna’s leadership has inspired and helped her teammates. Sophie Dickinson, a freshman on the team, says “She is a very hardworking and encouraging leader. She’s always been there for us.”  Caroline Dotas, a sophomore on the team, added, “She’s impacted the way I play volleyball and encouraged me to keep going. She is a great leader and teammate!”

Brianna plans to go to Dallas Baptist College to study Kinesiology. She would like to play volleyball for her college team, but still isn’t completely sure yet. However, she’ll use the skills she learned from volleyball, leadership and responsibility, to help her with her new journey.
