Marana Mountain View went 7-0 to capture the championship of the Lion’s Den Tournament held on Friday and Saturday. The Mountain Lions beat Buena 2-0 (25-16, 25-11) in the championship final on Saturday.

Julia Weatherbie led Mountain View with 15 assists in the championship match with Maggie McReynolds connecting on 7 kills. Jaden Walker had 13 assists for Buena and Schade Smith had 6 kills. Empire beat Walden Grove in the final match of the Silver Bracket to close out the competition.

The regular season for volleyball is winding down with the Play-in Tournament for 2A-6A slated for Tuesday, Nov. 1. The 1A Conference will have four Super Regional Tournaments: Canyon/North, Copper, Tucson Northwest and Tucson Southeast.
